Jesus continues His “sermon on the plain” and addresses hypocrisy among His followers. The church even today seems to be filled with hypocrites as the world is so anxious to point out. What are the dangers of hypocrisy and how can the mercy of of God cure us of this ill?

Who has power to forgive sins? Jesus would demonstrate this power as he healed a paralyzed man who was brought to him. What great friends this man must have had! What would you do to bring someone to Jesus?
A man with no hope comes to Jesus and finds healing and help. What a picture of all mankind in our hopeless condition of sinfulness! Jesus offers forgiveness and cleansing; and only He can do it!
Jesus demonstrates His power to provide as He calls Peter, James and John to follow Him. Seeing His power, they worship Jesus and follow Him forsaking all else!
