The Bridge Recovery Program

The Bridge to Recovery is a wonderful, faith-based program that helps people overcome their battles with addictions and personal life struggles. We use the Word of God to assist people in identifying what the root problem is within their struggles. God’s Word shows amazing truths that lead to incredible victories.

The Bridge to Recovery is a 3 step program on Thursday night where we connect, connect, connect . First we connect with God through testimonies and a challenging truth from God’s word. Next we Connect with each other in group. In the group you will meet your group leader, work on curriculum and receive peer support. Last you will connect with yourself during the week to study God’s word and find victory over your stronghold. Come join us where you will receive love, encouragement, and support as you begin your journey of victory

For more information contact Pastor Joel Henderson at (570) 323-3274 or (570) 772 3170.

The Truth

The Bible has much to say about Heaven and Hell. The truth is that Jesus spoke more of hell than he did of heaven. Why? Perhaps he loves us enough to tell us the truth and warn us of the judgment to come!

We all like the thought which a popular book promotes: “Heaven is for Real.” However, there is a flip side to that coin: Hell is for real, too. Just think about it logically. The existence of a heaven demands the existence of a hell, otherwise what is the point? The reality of goodness implies the reality of evil. When we point up, we attempt to make the distinction from what is down. When we talk of “good news,” we admit there can be “bad news.”

Let’s look at the “good news” and the “bad news” as found in the Bible:

First, the Bad News:

1. You are a lost sinner.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23 KJV)
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8 KJV)

2. The price of your sin is the wrath of God.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,” (Romans 1:18 KJV)
“the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4 KJV)

3. You cannot save yourself.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)
“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.” (Romans 3:20 KJV)

Now, the good news:

1. Jesus paid for your sin.
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” (1 Peter 3:18 KJV)
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NKJV)

2. Only Jesus can save you.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 KJV)
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”” (Acts 4:12 NKJV)

3. You can be saved by believing (completely depending) on Jesus.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,” (Acts 16:31 KJV)
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18 KJV)

The Bible has much more to say about this topic, but these are some basic truths that everyone must understand. No doubt, you have more questions and we would love to talk with you more. Give us a call or send us and email any time!
